Product Labeler

Product labelers are machines that affix labels to manufactured goods or products. Product labeler are responsible for attaching labels and logos, RFID tags, barcodes (UPC), and identifying labels.

Need
Products large and small need a means for consumers to identify them. The simplest method of achieving this is by labeling. The process follows the same basic principles irrespective of what size or shape the product is. Box, bottle, can, or jar, labeling basics apply.

Solution
During the production process, the product enters the labeling stage; this is usually near the end of the process. Either pre-printed labels, or custom print on demand labels are prepared. If customized labels are being used, a printer is is loaded with blank labels. A computer instructs the printer to generate the label and what the label should look like. The pressure sensitive labels feed into the labeler / applicator. When the product enters the application grid, it has been correctly positioned by a series of guides to ensure proper label placement. The product labeler applies the label by means of one of the following methods: Air-Blow, Tamp-Blow, or Wipe-On.

Once the label is affixed, the product moves on, and a new item takes its place on the application grid. Integrating the labeling system with the production process ensures a fast, accurate method of labeling and ensures product consistency between batches.
